Abhinava Desika Uttamur Swami Centenary Celebrations:
An Appeal

Dear Baghavatas,

You all know that the Centenary of Abhinava Desika Uttamur Swami is being celebrated in a fitting manner during the period from 22 January 97 to 5 February 97.

The very fact that the function is to be graced by the holy presence of all the Yativaras of our Sampradayam including H.H.Azhagiyasinghar of Ahobila Mutt, H.H.Srimad Andavan of Poundareekapuram Ashramam, H.H.Srimad Andavan of Periyashramam, H.H. Jeeyar of Parakala Mutt and others shows how great this Mahaan was and the yeoman services rendered by him to our Siddhanta.

The Celebrations committee have given details of the total budget for the celebrations amounting to Rs.6,00,000/- and have appealed to us to sponsor at least Rs.60,000/- (10% of the total expenses) to cover just one day's Parayana, Tadheeya Aradhana expenses. In terms of US currency, this works out to $1500/-.

There can be no greater glory for a Srivaishnava than to contribute his/ her mite towards the successful completion of this unique and 'Once- ina - lifetime' occasion. For those of us who earn in dollars, it should not be difficult for even one person to bear the entire amount but to impart a sense of participation and to make the financial impact to be proportionate, the target could be achieved by 30 persons contributing $50/- each or even 50 persons at $30/- each.

Please make sure to indicate that the contribution is for Uttamur Swami Centenary Celebrations. This arrangement is for securing you Tax exemption for your contribution. Sri Ahobila Muth, Arlington would remit the same to the Celebrations Committee.

As the time left is just a couple of weeks before the functions, We earnestly request you to send your cheque IMMEDIATELY so that arrangements can be made for a timely remittance.
