Sri Pillai Lokacarya

Sri Pillailokacarya was the eldest son of vadaku thiruvithi pillai, the author of idhu. He lived in Srirangam throuhgout his life and was a strong believer in equality of various varnas in the eyes of God. He wrote a total of 18 works in manipravala style, collectively known as Ashtadasa rahasyankal, expounding the philosophy of Visistadvaita.

One of his foremost disciples was a Harijan, called ViLAncolaippiLLai, who became very learned and, in his turn, had many Brahmins as his disciples. He was the author of a pure Tamil poem called SapthakAthai (text in Adhawin Font, Roman Text, PDF ) for which Sri ManavaaLa MAmunikaL later wrote a ManipravALa commentary.

Mummuksuppati. This is an essential teachings in the form of sutras, expounding the importance of the three rahasyas: thirumanthram, dhvayam and carmaslokkam.
